COVID-19 Relief
COVID-19 pandemic hit India in the beginning of 2020, causing loss of life and livelihood on a scale that was never seen. Two lockdowns enforced to combat the deadly virus disrupted all activities and everyone’s life took a turn for the worse. In a crisis like this, the lower strata of the society were worst hit.
Rural mostly living on a day-to-day income were worst hit. The poor migrant workers with no means of livelihood in cities returned to their villages. This mass exodus only made them susceptible to the deadly viral infection but also risked community transmission in their villages.
In this backdrop Manav Utthan Charitable Trust took initiative to provide relief to the villagers in Mau district with a view to solving their food problem. Awareness generation about prevention of the virus on mask wearing, washing/sanitising hands, and maintaining social distancing was carried out. Now MUCT is creating awareness on vaccination so no one in the villages remains without vaccine.
